Ayia Napa Clubbing

Located on the southern end of Cyprus, Ayia Napa has become widely known due to the clubbing options.  In order to boost tourism, the area has transformed from a family destination to the dance capital.  Ayia Napa has been compared to Ibiza in Spain, which also has the same type of nightlife popularity.  Keep reading for the top 10 clubbing scenes in Ayia Napa.

Abyss

Located in the heart of Ayia Napa, behind the Ice Ku, close to the square.

This is one of the hottest clubs in Ayia Napa, and was founded by a former member of The Kool Club.  After undergoing a huge amount of renovation several years ago, the club now has four levels, with an addition of an open-air chill out lounge, six bars, a champagne lounge, and a state of the art sound system.
This club definitely deserves a visit with the sounds of house & garage, bass and drum, and much more.  Clockwork Orange has chosen this spot for their large parties, which only adds to the popularity of the club.  You should keep your eyes open for their random “foam parties”, where you can dance in suds.

With four floors hosting R&B sounds, retro, funk, and house music, you can be sure that you will dance the night away at one of Ayia Napa’s largest dance clubs.  The Castle Club, which also looks like a castle from the outside, is one of the most well established clubs in the area.  The doors were first opened in 1995, but the club went by the name of The Kool Club, which is still in existence nearby.  Nick Powers, a famous DJ, was one of the founders.  He is still the main DJ at all of the popular club scenes in the area.
Since 2005, the Castle Club has had guest DJs such as Carl Cox, Alex P, Grooverider, Roy the Roach, Colin Dale, Fabio, and Paul Oakenfold.  You choose the style of music that you want to listen to according to which floor you are on and there is even a chill out area for those needing a short break.

Insomnia

Nissi Beach Road

Insomnia is correctly named for those who enjoy staying up late into the night and partying until morning. Most clubbers seek the refuge of Insomnia at the end of the night with plenty of garage and house style tunes. There are also live instruments to enjoy as well. The club is open from 4am until 7am, which is one of the rare clubs who stay open that late in the morning. The club features a spiral staircase, a great air conditioning system, a new sound system and plenty of champagne to keep the night flowing. One added benefit of Insomnia is that unlike the other admission prices at the clubs in the area, Insomnia is pretty cheap to get into.
